George is now RETIRED from technical search services and currently focuses on mentoring & training individuals with their career path advancement, as well as, helping hiring managers / internal recruiting staff enhance their talent acquisition skills and techniques.
George Martin's central goal was to provide high-quality services for both technical industry corporate clients as well as candidates. "The technical recruiting industry is a profession that takes multiple skills, business savvy, and talents that you don't learn overnight." George has over thirty-five years of hands-on experience, with thirty-one years running his own successful company. He enjoys working with all types of professionals across the U.S.
George excels in this kind of environment by thinking outside the box, getting creative, and evaluating both parties' motives and desires. His ability to merge his many years of business experience with his formal education enables him to view things from different perspectives. He keeps a central focus on one of his key goals: to build long-term relationships that are mutually rewarding between his candidates, clients, and himself. "The measure of my success is when I get feedback from my client company and candidate that both are happy with their choices in working together."

BACKGROUND
George’s background began with his serving in the US Air Force as a Medic. After completion of his four-year enlistment, he moved to Dallas, TX where he worked as a part-time surgical assistant (in dentistry), while simultaneously going to college at night at both Richland College (AS in Arts & Science) and University of Texas at Dallas (BA degree in F.A.).
George’s first job after graduation was in a technical sales/marketing position within the Security Alarm industry. He initially was trained in the residential new construction division, working with custom builders. George got his sales experience calling on builders, architects, and custom home buyers. He designed, sold, and project managed elaborate security systems installed in multi-million-dollar homes. Part of his job responsibility was to oversee all stages of installation from blueprints throughout construction. It was an excellent learning experience to be able to work with engineers, technicians, builders, and custom homeowners to ensure that each project was completed to everyone’s satisfaction. After a few years George was promoted to into management where he trained and hired a staff that dominated the local Dallas / Ft Worth, TX builder market by providing systems for over 270 builder accounts.
After several successful years, the company was sold, and George was ready for a new challenge. He researched and discovered an industry that allowed him the opportunity to leverage his skill sets and business expertise: the Technical Search Industry. George worked hard to learn the business and began placing engineers both locally and nationally. He knew that honesty, professionalism, and a high quality of service would be what it took to establish and build strong relationships.
After four years of working in the industry for other companies, George had a vision of what a superior Technical Search Firm should be. So, thirty-one years ago, he made that leap of faith and took a risk creating GM and Associates. His passion for this business, skill sets, and extensive relationships have allowed him to successfully weather three recessions. As a business owner, he chooses to work with quality companies and candidates providing training and mentorship services now that he is retired from the recruiting/ search services - passing on his expertise and knowledge to help others succeed.
